Types of Transfer:
Private Transfer
This transfer type is for either the client or the client’s party only and is generally a more luxurious form of transfer; it is also normally more expensive. All types of transfer may be booked privately but this usually accounts for saloon cars, limousines, water taxis and helicopters. These transfers are normally direct door to door services from pick up point to hotel are these are usually significantly quicker than a shared transfer.
Shared Transfer
Shared transfers are a cheaper option and a suited to those on a budget who would like to travel to the hotel in comfort but without paying premium prices. These transfers generally involve pick ups and drop offs en route to your hotel and may well take a while longer than a private transfer.
Vehicle Options:
Car/Taxi
Car and taxi transfers are generally mid range in price; they can fit between 2 – 8 people and are only available as a private transfer. Car or taxi is one of the quickest ways to make your transfer and is a personal door to door service. This is one of the most common and popular ways to book a transfer.
Minibus
Minibus transfers are a good value transfer and can fit up to about 16 people. This is both a private and a shared option although bookings area generally private and by a large group. This is a fast and efficient transfer option and is a door to door service.
Coach
Coaches are normally the cheapest form of airport transfer and can fit up to roughly 52 people. These are usually known as shuttle transfers and are also normally shared transfers; although they can also be a form of private transport should the group be big enough. Coach transfers are normally quite slow as they normally include a series of either drop offs or pick ups at hotels due to the number of passengers.
Limousines
Limousines are an expensive option but can generally fit up to 8 – 10 people. This is a personal service and is a private transfer only. Limousines are a luxurious way to begin your holiday.
Water Taxi
Water taxis are a great way to arrive at your hotel in some major European cities, most notably Venice. Water taxis can fit up to 10 people and although they can be expensive they are ideal for arriving at your hotel in a city like Venice where it can be easy to get lost.
Helicopter
The most expensive transfer options but also the most impressive. Helicopters are a private transfer and fit up to 5 – 9 people. This is a fast and highflying way to arrive at the required destination and is a great way to begin a luxury holiday. This is a popular way to transfer from Nice to Monte Carlo and also from Malta to the island of Gozo.
